k see that edging? i tried so hard to get a good pic so i hope you can see it...should i do that around the whole entire edge of the blanket to kinda give it a finished look? or leave it without that? Thanks for your help! (and i think im going to go with Tiny Treasures as the name, thank you all for your ideas and help, i so appreciate it!!)

I definitely would. Thats what I did and it kind of helps it from "opening" in the middle more, remember?
