Thursday Thirteen!!

Yeah another Thursday Thirteen!!

k my Thursday Thirteen this week is:

13 Memories from my childhood!

1. always on the weekends when i was little my mom and dad would have the radio playing all day! I loved listening to the music and sometimes now when those old songs come on i get flashbacks from those days, way simplier time!

2.One time my dad and i went to get ice cream all by ourselves at this place down the road! I remember feeling so special cuz there wasnt much dad and me time with a older brother and a younger sister!

3. We had this long vines hanging off trees in our backyard, my dad always called them "Monkey Vines" (no clue if thats their real name, lol) and My brother and I would swing on that thing forever, until the day i slipped off when i was way out high, i landed flat on my back and got the wind knocked out of me, not fun!

4. One of my favorite memories is just of my moms top dresser drawer...my sister and i would go in there and look in there, she always had fun make up in there or pens we wanted to take, pretty jewlery to play with, she didnt like us rummaging around her drawer, lol

5. We went to Idlewild park EVERY August for Irwin Community Days. My family including Aunt and Uncle and Cousin, and my grandparents on my dads side would all go up there for the day, they would make food and wed eat then go ride some rides, i remember my moms cold meatloaf sandwiches, YUM!!

6. We loved the show Little House on the Praire when we were younger, on that show the kids would play on this seesaw thing that spun around AND went up and down, well one day my dad decided to build us one!! My sister and I had so much fun playing on that, one time we were spinning around sooo fast and my sister was screaming for me to stop but i wouldnt, well she fell off and ended up breaking her arm...i felt really bad...

7. I was born with a birthmark on my back, it was about the size of a half dollar, when i was 9 my mom and dad took me to a doctor and he told us we'd have to get it removed, i went through surgery to have it removed...i remember the anthesia made me so sick and the nurse scared the crap outta me saying "now honey if you throw up when i take this I.V. out you might have to spend the night" gosh i tried my hardest not to throw up cuz i wanted to leave so bad!! and i got to leave that day, lol

8. I had the greatest friend in Second grade, she was such a wonderful girl and we hung out every minute! She stayed with her grandparents alot and i loved going over there to stay with them too, her grandfather had the prettiest garden in their backyard and her and i would go out there and pretend it was the secret garden and no one knew about it but us! We also pretended there were teeny tiny people that lived in the garden...during Christmas time her grandfather put up little ceramic houses and we would pretend they lived in those...

9. growing up i had 3 dogs, the one dog, Blue was sooo mean, my mom had a cat who was very old and my mom had her before she even married my dad, well one day the cat accidentally got out of the house and the dog Blue alwmost killed her...i remember my mom screaming to my dad to get the cat out of the dogs mouth (Blue had the cat in his mouth slinging her around...) thankfully the cat was okay besides being shooken up...that dog ran away sometime after that...

10. i was about 7 or 8 and we were in the house and my dad came running into the house saying he had an accident with the table saw in the garage! (he cut his finger almost off...) I think it was my grandma who rushed him to the hospital then we all followed after that, but i remember walking out to the car thinking id find his finger just laying in the driveway....freaked me out! He didnt lose his finger though, had a skin graft done on it so it wasnt that bad

11. I love thinking of all the times my sister and i would sit down and play Barbies!! We'd build extravagant houses out of blankets and then use socks to partition off rooms and wed have this big huge mansions!! We'd play for hours, and i remember thinking to myself one time "How will i ever grow up one day and NOT want to play this??" lol I remember we'd look forward to the summer just cuz my mom and dad would be at work all day and we could play all day long if we wanted too, asl long as we got the dishwasher and vacumm cleaner done!! lol

12. every July/August when the blackberries would come up in our yard, we'd pick buckets of those things to eat!!

13. i love thinking of all the times when we would be happy together as a family, with my parents seperated now and my dad sick i love looking back on those times...the time we went camping together! and we would go bike riding at this place called Ohiophyle, i love thinking of all the happy times!!

That is so sweet! I actually have some similar memories that I hadn't thought of in a long time. I may use this as a 13 sometime. Today's my first time playing.

Those are some happy memories! It's really nice to think back to when things seemed so much simpler.

Very nostalgic. It makes me want to ask all my friends about their childhood memories.

Great idea for a 13! I especially liked the one about your little friend who had spent a lot of time at her grandparent's and the nice secret garden. I can almost see that one in my head, for some reason.

Have a great weekend!

May I hope, madam, for your interest with your fair daughter Elizabeth, when I solicit for the honour of a private audience with her in the course of this morning?
